Just keep swimming, just keep swimming
What do we do? We swii~iim!
My alarm went off at 6 this morning, and after much hitting of the snooze button I finally rolled out at 7 to go.....swimming! The pool's open from 6-8 for laps (and some other inconvenient times during the day when I have classes) so I'm going to try and get my lazy butt over there for a half hour or so every day or so. It was nice, but I haven't swam laps in years (years!) and the last time I was even in an actual pool instead of the ocean was I believe last September. So it's been a while. I was on swimteam from when I was like 5 or so up until I think 6th or 7th grade, and swimming is kind of like riding a bike in that you don't really forget "how" to do it in terms of good form and whatnot, but your muscles really don't want to cooperate. I could probably kick some ass at the butterfly for about half the length of the pool, then I'd be dead. Actually the main problem I was having was that I would get out of breath. I don't think I can use the "high elevation" excuse anymore since I've been up here for a while and my body should have gotten to work on those nice extra red blood cells for me by now. So, I dunno. Hopefully if I keep this up I'll be able to swim for more than 50 meters without needing to take a breather, haha.
It's very strange for it to be 9:30 and I've already been up and at 'em for a while. I don't even have to rush to get to class in a half hour!
